The Saudi Harbor project stands as the pioneering marine tourism platform worldwide.
Saudi Arabia is dedicated to creating tourism and entertainment experiences that match the goals of Future Vision 2030. We aim to position Saudi Arabia as a top tourist destination globally. In introducing these projects, we prioritise sustainability and the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources.
The Offshore Harbor project is an exceptional entertainment destination. It's set to be the world's first offshore platform solely for tourism, blending old and new oil platforms. This underscores Saudi Arabia's deep-rooted reliance on its oil, gas, and natural resources sector.
The project is situated 40 kilometres from the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia, near Al-Jarid Island and the Beri oil field in the Arabian Gulf. It spans an area of about 300 thousand square metres and offers exceptional experiences for adventure and excitement enthusiasts. The project also aligns with the future vision of Saudi Arabia, which aims to develop the tourism sector and create new job opportunities.
The Harbor project is planned to include three hotels with a total of 800 rooms, 11 restaurants (including some underwater ones), airstrips, an international marina, and various other facilities. It's expected to attract about 900,000 visitors annually by 2032.
The Oil Park Development Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, will oversee the project's development. Visitors can anticipate over 70 entertainment activities, including daring experiences like bungee jumping from great heights, a private diving centre, a recreational water park, an electronic sports centre, an interactive theatre, and a multi-course arena. Additionally, there will be a giant climbing wall, water skiing, and various other activities on offer.
The Harbor project is accessible from departure stations in Dammam and Jubail, with various transportation options including fast ferries, helicopters, and seaplanes. Additionally, the project will offer designated areas for tourist cruise ships to dock.
The project supports the vision and efforts made to achieve the greatest degree of sustainability and the utilisation of environmentally friendly resources, particularly water resources. Therefore, the developing company has signed several agreements with the National Centre for Wildlife Development to achieve sustainability and environmental protection in the project area. This includes the potential development of environmental activities related to marine organisms and working to exchange experiences and research related to that.
